C Three Foundation Celebrates Two Years
The C Three Foundation was created to help save the lives of alcoholics worldwide. We aim to educate doctors, alcoholics, family and friends of alcohol-dependent people about the most successful long term treatment for alcoholism: The Sinclair Method.
Two years ago today, on June 12, 2013, the C Three Foundation was incorporated as a non-profit corporation with almost no resources to speak of, but with great passion for helping individuals who struggle with alcohol use disorder.
With Claudia Christian at the helm, the C Three Foundation feels less like an organization and more like a family in which each and every one of you have played vital roles. We would not be here if it were not for your support. You have offered us your time, your talents, your words of encouragement, and you have trusted us with your donations. You have seen us through the filming and production of One Little Pill and two Indiegogo campaigns. Your generosity has, at times, literally brought us to tears. In the last two years, we have been contacted by hundreds of people searching for doctors to help them with their recovery using TSM. Our Find a Physician resource page has grown from nothing more than an idea to 32 doctors, therapists, and clinics, in 13 states and six countries, 21 of whom have been verified and reached out to us saying, “I want to help.”
Your donations have helped us put more than 150 key chains into the hands of people on TSM. These key chains are a vital compliance tool in the early days of recovery as they allow people to carry their medication with them. Every time a new physician is added to our site, we offer them 5 free key chains to give to their patients with their first prescription.
Year Three and Beyond…
Our next big project is almost ready to launch. We’ve designed a Physician Outreach Program to educate primary care physicians about TSM and provide them with the information they need to treat alcohol use disorder as a medical condition. Our goal is to reach 500 doctors in the first six months of the program. A portion of the money raised during Claudia’s birthday party/fundraiser in Seattle will be used to support this project.
Claudia has recorded several FAQ videos that we will be sharing in the next couple of weeks. These videos provide insight into some of the most basic questions a person beginning their recovery using TSM will ask and include topics such as telling your family, common side effects, and how to keep a drink diary.
We’ve started preliminary conversations with the Veteran’s Health Administration about how we can work with them to bring TSM to Veterans. We expect this to be a slow process, but we are committed to doing everything we can to help those who have put their lives on the line for our freedom.
The C Three Foundation will also be in Washington D.C. in October for the NAADAC annual conference, which includes a day on Capitol Hill speaking with lawmakers about the importance of treatment options that are scientifically shown to work.
And those are just the things we can talk about right now. We have several other collaborations in various stages of brainstorming and development.
We are so grateful for the outpouring of support you have shown us. Thank you for being a part of the C Three Foundation family.
